Charlotte lives in rural New England on her small organic dairy farm, where she pastures her jersey cows, tends her orchards and gardens, and writes prodigiously. She was first published in 2006, in a student anthology, A Celebration of Young Poets. To date, she does not have a novel published, but she is working on it. In the meantime, she’s sharing some of her unpublishable work with the world. Derivative work is by no means a new thing in the world of art, and many poets have told old tales in new words. The Song of the Shepard is a poem in that old tradition.
